Welcome to a true Danish transportation fairytale! Back in 1882 the Danish entrepreneur Anders Nielsen founded the company that we today know as Ancotrans, by offering horse powered transport of luggage to and from the ports of Copenhagen. Since then, five generations have led the company toward a global market leader within container road transport. This makes Ancotrans one of Denmark’s oldest family owned and managed companies.
Road transportation of all types of shipping containers has been the primary business activity for more than 50 years. With around 900 trucks and 2000 chassis in daily rotation in Northern Europe, Ancotrans aims to remain the preferred partner to their customers throughout Europe.
Ancotrans NL and the Dutch activities started in 2018 with the office in Rotterdam and has in only a few years become a successful transportation partner to the Dutch market and cross-border. Already employing more than 50 dedicated people they are respected for their attitude and professional services.
The Sales Manager position is new to the Dutch Ancotrans business, defined and designed to support the continuing great journey of Ancotrans.
Today most commercial insight and business development is still executed by the Dutch Country Manager, Dave Lanser, but as the market position grows, he needs to continue the focus on defining direction, operations and setup. This is why he is in need of a wing-man who can make use of all operational insight and market knowledge in taking the Ancotrans customers in the Dutch market to the next level.
As Sales Manager, you will work closely with the local Dutch team as well as the cross-border Group Commercial Team at other Ancotrans offices. You will head the Dutch commercial activities in joined forces with the Country Manager, being the link between customers and Ancotrans’s operations, dispatch and customer service.
We expect you to plan, drive & execute B2B business development in Holland, making sure leads and opportunities will be turned into targets and turnover. You must strengthen the business growth and market position for Ancotrans, focusing firstly on building excellent relations and long-term business towards many existing Anco-customers, but also initiating New-Bizz activities.
You must contribute to the great Anco target of selling green transport solutions – paving the way for green transition in collaboration with customers alongside the cross-country sales opportunities.
Your Profile
Ancotrans is looking for a dedicated transportation professional with a passion for green transport solutions and a solid understanding of the hand-in-hand balance between growing business and operational excellence in transportation.
We expect you to find yourself in a majority of these statements:
- Experience and network within operations and business development in logistics/transport/freight forwarding
- Proven track record/results in building strong customer relations
- Knowledge of Dutch/European road transport market and operations
- Great business acumen and driven by frequent customer contact and providing the best possible service
- Development oriented, ambitious and a skilled communicator & relationship-builder (both externally and internally)
- Identify with our core values, mission and vision
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
- IT and tech-savvy
